Ausvat’s patented technology allows the recovery of near worthless oak and converts it into usable battens straightened and toasted to your requirements either for use in Ausvat Stakvats® or your own storage vessels.
Oaking Wine in large maturation tanks has never been easier. Using recovered oak threaded on stainless steel Warren-Bruer batten holding rings the need to enter the tank is negated with each oak rack holding approx 8m² of oak (12 –15 kg dry).
Issues such as pumping out to renew oak as well as OH&S questions pertaining to workers entering tanks is alleviated. Added benefits include greater time efficiencies/productivity as well as control of oak levels.

Ausvat barrel reclaim technology · Barrels are broken down and staves are stacked at the factory in a quarantined environment. · Staves are allowed to Dry/Moisten to attain best results when fired. · Staves are then cut into two usable battens discarding non viable oak. · Battens are straightened and fired (toasted) to your; requirements. · Battens toasted using infrared technology · Toasting process takes up to 60 minutes at an even 200oC. · Elimination of yeast and bacteria. · Freshly reclaimed battens then packaged and returned to the winery for immediate use. |
